The brief for the Sweezy was straightforward but not easy — a table that reads as contemporary without losing the warmth you want around it when family gathers. The answer was in the material conversation: hand patinated steel legs with enough visual weight to anchor the design, mortised directly into a sapele stretcher that ties them to the top. The patina gives the steel a depth and warmth that powder coat can't replicate — it shifts the legs from industrial to something more alive, more in conversation with the wood. The connection point is where the piece earns its character — steel and wood meeting honestly, each material doing what it does best.
